White Wolf writing/art contest

http://www.white-wolf.com/index.php?line=news&articleid=853

White Wolf is having a contest for short fiction, game material, or art to go into the winter edition of their quarterly magazine. Material must relate to any current publication of theirs. I'm not sure how many of us play/played any of their games, but I thought this was at least worth mentioning for Zach and Lane. On that, Lane if you have the time you should write out that bloodline you made for Vampire. Zach, I'm sure you can come up with something too. I just wanted to remind Lane he has something worth submitting already.

Note: Currently their contest page says that you can do one submission per week or you are only allowed one submission, period. I emailed the guy in charge and he said the 'per week' was a mistake. If this doesn't get changed immediately I just wanted you guys to be aware so you didn't submit anything right away thinking you could have something for this week, and then turn in something new next week.

ack... only WotC here, for themost part... d20 stuff : /

Although writing for gaming is a -very- alluring idea.

I know what you mean. In fact, I got crazy excited when I looked up editing jobs in Seattle (or Portland?) WotC was hiring... but they wanted someone with 2 years experience. I wonder if it's a very profitable industry, but it would still be fun to work in.

I think working on the Magic Creative team would be one of my dream jobs. The problem with the d20 settings (and, I think, with pen and paper in general) is that things get too... ponderous. There's so much going on, and you're either stuck in a position where you have to obey what others have written, or hold back on your own ideas to keep them fun.

Of course, game-design is another area that really turns my dials to ten, so it's hard to not want to write something for games.
