The main character comes into contact with some sort of object,
manipulates it somehow, and discovers a genie.
Just the scene; no story needed, though if you want to write one... well, ya know.
In which a group of friends get together and prod each other to refine their craft.
Write monkey, write!

I still disagree with the use of the word "scene" to describe these assignments. Scene seems like a synonym for "very" short story. A short story of less than 3 pages is still a story and in no way inferior to longer versions.
For this, I'm just writing one scene.. or rather, a scene and an half, not a whole story, even a short one. The idea is to convey a sense of mood and character in a very tight way; just one scene.
