It wasn't going to end anytime soon, Andy would get shit for this for a while. If he would just learn to laugh it off, then it would be easier. They all knew he wasn't going to... well, at least he wouldn't until he was piss drunk. It didn't help that Hemp had no qualms about encouraging the situation.
"Dude," Hemp made a duh face as if it was the greatest idea ever, "It's a great idea, go get drunk, then go with the fat girl to her orgy party."
"It's not an orgy party," Andy looked like he was on his way to a club... in Amsterdam. His Express button down, worn jeans, and aviator sunglasses were out of place around people dressed as hobbits and storm troopers.
The Sky walk leading from the Omni to the convention center was air conditioned but the August sun was beating down on the glass roof and working harder then the machines. Andy wiped sweat from the back of his head.
"Jesus Andy, you're sweating just thinking about her fat tits," Chris laughed, Pete just closed his eyes and stifled the urge.
"I'm not going to sleep with her, she said she needed something."
"Yeah, your cock," Chris laughed louder, and tried to poke Andy in the head. He was swatted away.
Chris was feeling good, the whole crew was, and despite the ball busting Andy was enduring right now, he was smiling. That's good, Chris thought, he's usually so uptight and winny. The socially awkward moved passed each other, coming and going around the convention center. For the next four days these geeks, nerds, and and others who tend shun the light of day, and the world outside their parents basements would come out, breathe the fresh air, maybe shower, and take over the city of indianapolis. If it had been any other place, any other time, and Chris saw the four hundred pound man who was now walking past him dressed as a knight, he would have avoided eye contact. Lowering his head in shame.
But today he raised a fist, shouting, "Wooo, GenCon."
"Settle down, there hard charger,"said Andy over his shoulder.
"Shut, up turd, and take off those glasses you look like a tool," Chris didn't understand Andy's recent tendency to look like eurotrash.
Chris could feel Pete roll his eyes. Whatever.
"I'm telling you it's a great idea," Hemp was still trying to sell it, "you sleep with the fat girl, you can check getting laid at GenCon off your list, so you don't have to worry about that."
"But then I'll still have slept with Angela..."
Pete laughed, "Angela! Dude her name's Alicia."
"Her name is sasquatch," Chris laughed, stifled it, then looked over his shoulder.
"Good job, Chris," Pete nodded at him, "Lets offend everyone our first day here.
"No that's the beauty part," Hemp charged on, "you can use that shame to fuel your search for hotter women."
"I don't think it'll work out like... why are we discussing this?" Andy was making that scrunched face that let people know he was over thinking and bothered. Chris wanted to tell him he looked like he just smelled a dump, "I'm not sleeping with her, I'm just going to head over there tonight to make sure she's okay."
"That's why you're stupid," Chris could see Andy about to dig his own grave, "why would you go, you know that she's gonna just cry about some problem or another, she'll buy you a few drinks and you'll end up sleeping with her, and bitching about 'why did I hook up with a nasty chick?.'"
"Whatever Dude,"Chris could see Andy was about to blow him off again.
"Do whatever you want, man, but I'm just letting you know, you're gonna do something you don't wanna do, because you're gonna be a nice guy, and then you're gonna try to climb out of that whole, and no joke, women know when you're that kind of desperate and shit's just gonna get worse."
"Why are you angry about this?" Pete of course assuming that Chris was pissed off.
"No, I'm not angry, I just don't want to see him do something stupid, like sleep with the fat girl."
"Why does it matter?" Hemp and Andy were walking further ahead now, leaving Chris and Pete more room.
"Because he's my brother, and i don't like when people think of him as the guy who fucks fat chicks."
"Why is that your problem," Pete was trying to rationalize it to Chris.
"Because He's a good guy and he'd have mad game, if he'd just stop playing himself down like that."
"Like what?"
"Like sleeping with girls, like what's her nuts, and then feeling sorry for himself"
"How do you know he's gonna sleep with her?"
Chris didn't say anything, he just looked at Pete, deadpan.
"He said she needed help with something and that she wanted us all to help, maybe this is on the level."
"And what would she need our help for."
The realization of the question appeared on Pete's face as it rose up in Chris.
"Andy!" They both shouted as they jogged to catch up with Hemp and Andy.
"What does she need our help for?" Pete asked it quietly, letting only the four of them hear the question.
"I told you, she didn't tell me."
"But what does she know about us that she would come looking for us for help."
"Maybe she needs some marketing done?" Andy was holding something back, Pete, Chris, and Hemp waited for a real answer, "okay, so I may have mentioned that we worked for a private investigation firm a while ago and then that whole thing in the woods with the girl, and the crazy dead woman," Andy offered a weak smile.
Great, thought Chris, He didn't want to deal with the supernatural again, you couldn't shoot the dead, "Well, hopefully I'll get to kick Pete out a window again."
"That's all I need."
